Tagged figures

The totals and revenue splits Flow reads from the XBRL tags in a company's annual report.

An annual report is filed with every figure of its financial statements tagged: what it is, for which year and for which slice of the business. Flow reads revenue, cost of revenue, gross profit, operating, pre-tax and net income for the last three years; revenue by product, by segment and by country or region; and the customers the report tags a share of revenue for, named or not.

How to read it

The revenue splits on the Overview and the markets on the Network are these. A figure tagged for several parties as one ("our three largest customers") is a fact about the company, never a party. Shares of receivables, purchases, cost of goods, one input or one segment keep that denominator. Long-lived assets by country say where the company's own property stands (a calculated share of the tagged total). The four reports read are merged, each party's earlier years kept. A region that holds countries already shown ("outside the U.S.") is left out so the parts add up. A customer the report does not name stays unnamed.

Limitations

A report filed before tagging began, or a slice tagged only within a segment, gives nothing here. Labels are the tags' own names set in words, which can be terse.
