How sure a link is

Every link on Flow is gold, steel or bronze: directly disclosed, inferred, or uncertain.

Directly disclosed: a party stated it in its own words, such as "our wafers are manufactured by TSMC" or a customer's share of revenue in a report's own figures. Inferred: Kereon read it from the shape of what was stated, such as the good a sentence is about. Uncertain: a listed company is named beside a supplier or customer word in the company's own sentence, but the sentence does not say what it is to the company.

How to read it

The color is the only difference: every line is drawn solid, with an arrowhead the way goods move. Each link opens every sentence it was read from, from every company that states it.

Limitations

An uncertain link is never read from a sentence about competition, a financing, a sale of a business or a venture, and never makes a dependency Critical.

Also called: directly disclosed, inferred, uncertain, gold link, bronze link, link confidence.
