Seasonality (backtest)

A backtest's average return by calendar month and by weekday, with how often each was positive.

How to read it

A hit rate above 50% with a positive average is a consistent tendency; a high average from one huge month is not.

How to use it

Spot calendar effects in a strategy before trusting them.

Limitations

Each month has one observation per year of test — ten years is ten numbers, easily noise.
