Rate of change (ROC)
The percentage change over the last N bars.
Formula
ROC = (Price ÷ Price N bars ago − 1) × 100
How to read it
Above zero the price is higher than N bars ago; extremes relative to its own history mark stretched moves.
How to use it
Compares momentum across stocks, since it is in percent, and flags divergences.
