2s10s spread

The 10-year Treasury yield minus the 2-year, in percentage points.

Formula

2s10s = 10-year par yield − 2-year par yield

How to read it

Positive is a normal, upward-sloping curve; below zero it is inverted — historically a recession warning, usually months ahead.

How to use it

The single most-watched read of the curve's slope.

Limitations

End-of-day Treasury data, labeled with its date.
