Chaikin money flow (CMF)
Whether volume has been arriving on closes near the high or near the low.
Formula
Money-flow volume = Volume × ((Close − Low) − (High − Close)) ÷ (High − Low) CMF = Σ money-flow volume ÷ Σ Volume, over N
How to read it
Above zero is buying pressure, below zero selling pressure.
How to use it
Confirms breakouts: a move up with CMF above zero has volume behind it.
